Since 1931, the mission of the Palos Verdes Art Center is to inspire individuals to celebrate, appreciate and create art. The Art Center's exhibition, education and outreach programs have provided affordable access to the visual arts through free art exhibitions, studio art classes, school-based art education, and awards and scholarships.
Entirely supported by private community donations, this year the Art Center will celebrate its 80th year in Palos Verdes. Current fundraising efforts are only $200,000 away from their goal of $5.5 million raised through their Anniversary campaign.
The Palos Verdes Art Center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The new exhibit is presented by the California Art Club, titled "Then and Now: One Hundred Years of California Impressionism," and will be showing now until the end of September.
So the next time you drive home early, make sure to pick up some friends or your family and go see the new exhibit at the Palos Verdes Art Center.
